Biathlon: Quentin Fillon-Maillet’s fourth Olympic title
On Friday afternoon, 33-year-old Quentin Fillon-Maillet from the Jura region of France won the sprint at the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games in sunnyAntholz, Italy. Four years after his success in Beijing, he becomes the second Olympic sprint champion in sixteen years after Vincent Jay, crowned in February 2010 in Whistler (Canada).
The Franc-Comtois is also France’s first double Olympic sprint medallist, having already been runner-up in the format. Above all,with seven podium finishes at the Olympic Games, Quentin Fillon-Maillet equals Martin Fourcade’s winter record… but also judoka Teddy Riner.
Finally, with four Olympic gold medals, the biathlete from Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux (Jura) equals, in particular, Léon Marchand, four-time Olympic swimming champion at Paris 2024. It should be noted that he is still two lengths behind Martin Fourcade in this statistical line.
