Cross-country skiing: Mathis Desloges wins two medals in two individual races on the Tesero Olympic track
Five days after winning Olympic silver in the skiathlon at Tesero (Italy), Isère’s Mathis Desloges did it again at midday on Friday in the individual 10km skating event.
The cross-country skier from Villard-de-Lans (Isère) simply goes down in French cross-country skiing history as the first Frenchman to win two individual Olympic medals. While Richard Jouve is a double Olympic medallist and Maurice Manificat a quadruple medallist, it was only in relay events that they reached the Olympic podium.

On Sunday, during the men’s relay, Mathis Desloges will have another opportunity to win an Olympic medal. If he does, he will become the first French cross-country skier to win three Olympic medals in a single Olympic Games.
