Ski jumping: Domen Prevc finally crowned individual Olympic champion
On Saturday evening, in the last individual event for ski jumpers at the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, Slovenia’s Domen Prevc had revenge on his mind after failing to win the small hill.
But Ren Nikaido was not to be counted out. At 141 metres, the Japanese rider was well ahead of the Slovenian and Norway’s Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal, who was third at the halfway stage.

But while the Norwegian failed to confirm his first jump, handing another bronze medal to Poland’s Kacper Tomasiak, the same could not be said of Domen Prevc. With the longest jump of the day at 141.5 metres, the world number 1 finally took his individual Olympic gold medal, ahead of Ren Nikaido.

Huge disappointment for reigning Olympic champion Marius Lindvik, who didn’t even make it through to the final round, just like Stefan Kraft. Another disappointment, a more global one, was Austria, who for the moment missed out on the Games altogether.

Less success on the large hill for Frenchman Valentin Foubert. After coming close on the small hill, the Courchevel native finished in the top 20 this time, in seventeenth place. Jules Chervet and Enzo Milesi finished thirty-fourth and forty-fourth respectively.
