Biathlon: end of provisional suspension for Rebecca Passler
On Friday morning, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI ) announced in a statement that the provisional suspension of the transalpine biathlete Rebecca Passler, who had tested positive for letrozole at the end of January, had come to an end.
“The National Court of Appeal of NADO Italia has accepted Rebecca Passler’s appeal against her provisional suspension following a positive test for letrozole, recognising the fumus boni iuris, i.e. the apparent likelihood of unintentional intake or unconscious contamination of the substance in question”, it begins.

As a result, the biathlete’s suspension has been lifted and Rebecca Passler can now take part in the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. ” She will join her team-mates from Monday 16 February, when she will be available to the technical staff for the forthcoming competitions on the Olympic programme”, it adds.
“The Federation is delighted with the outcome of the appeal, which means that Rebecca [Passler] can return to the team,” said Flavio Roda, President of the FISI.
