11:17. On Tuesday, South Korean skiers Dasom Han and Eui Jin Lee were disqualified from qualifying for the classic sprint at the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. The reason: the presence of fluoride on their skis, detected during the check carried out by officials from the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS).
Used to improve glide by repelling the film of water on the snow, fluoride has been strictly banned from competition since the 2020/2021 season. Its use contravenes point 222.8 of the FIS regulations, which prohibits all fluorinated waxes and additives.
