2030 French Alps Olympic and Paralympic Games: Olympic law soon to go through Parliament
On Thursday, Marie Barsacq, the French Minister for Sport, Youth and the Voluntary Sector, presented the draft Olympic 2030 law to the Council of Ministers. According to the former Executive Director of Impact and Legacy for Paris 2024, the bill “sets out the legislative roadmap for making a success of this international event, in conjunction with the host regions, local authorities, athletes and the French people as a whole”.
“This law is an effective tool in the service of a collective ambition. It transposes the lessons of the Paris 2024 Games, while adapting them to the specific characteristics of mountain areas, she continued in a post published on the LinkedIn social network. With its 37 articles, it includes provisions relating to organisation, ethics, planning, the environment, mobility, health, safety and legacy.”

According to our colleagues in Le Dauphiné Libéré, the timetable is as follows: the text will be presented to the Senate in June, then to the National Assembly in September, before being adopted by Parliament by the end of 2025.
“I will bring this text before Parliament with determination, so that France can once again live up to its ambitions, and so that the 2030 French Alps Winter Games are a success for our athletes, our regions and all our fellow citizens”, promises Marie Barsacq.
