Milan/Cortina 2026 Games: the same bonuses as in Paris 2024 for French medallists
On Saturday 8 November, the Order of 23 October 2025 “on the payment of bonuses linked to performances by the French teams at the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy)” was published in the Journal officiel.
In this text, we learn that the French sportsmen and women who win medals at the Milan/Cortina 2026 Games will receive the same amount of money as those from Paris 2024. This is a major first , as winter bonuses have previously been lower than those awarded in the summer.

A gold medal will be worth €80,000, a silver medal €40,000 and a bronze medal €20,000. The increases compared with Beijing 2022 are impressive: the gold medal has been raised by 23.08% (from €65,000 to €80,000), the silver medal by 60% (from €25,000 to €40,000) and the bronze medal by 33.33% (from €15,000 to €20,000).
It should be noted that athletes will still be able to spread the taxation of their bonuses over four years. These amounts, which have been taxable since the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, will therefore not benefit from any specific tax regime.
