Biathlon: Loïs Boisson, the new darling of the French public at Roland-Garros
On 25 May, few would have bet on such a course. And yet Loïs Boisson continues to push back the boundaries of achievement day after day. A real revelation at the 2025 Roland Garros tennis tournament, the Frenchwoman reached the final four of the legendary French Open on Wednesday.
Having beaten Jessica Pegula, ranked third in the world, on Monday, the 22-year-old Frenchwoman impressed once again two days later , defeating rising star Mirra Andreeva, ranked number 6 in the WTA rankings, in just two sets.

These stratospheric performances opened the door to the semi-finals of a tournament she missed out on in 2024 after suffering an unfortunate cruciate ligament rupture just a few weeks before the start of hostilities. This year, the Dijon native has taken her revenge.
To prepare for the season, Loïs Boisson has included biathlon in her training programme. Indeed, on Instagram, her fitness trainer Sébastien Durand revealed that her protégée had donned a rifle to test herself on the shooting range at Le Grand-Bornand, in Haute-Savoie.
“Biathlon is a complete sport that allows you to work on muscle toning to transmit forces, and the cardio part is interesting, as is the ability of biathletes to bring their heart rate down quickly to regain precision,” wrote the coach on the social network.
An excellent clay court player, the tenniswoman has mastered gliding on the Paris ochre. A phenomenon that can also be explained by her ski training: “This sport also allows you to work on your glide: it’s easy to see the analogy with tennis with the clay season Loïs is starting,” adds Sébastien Durand.
Ranked 361st in the world at the start of her incredible tour of the Porte d’Auteuil courts, Loïs Boisson is now preparing to take on Coco Gauff, the American who is only the second best player in the world at the moment.
