Biathlon: Gaëtan Paturel takes gold in the U22s and the overall podium
In the men’s mass-start of the French biathlon championships in Les Saisies (Savoie) on Sunday afternoon, Gaëtan Paturel ran a solid race to round off his winter.
Third overall at 18/20, the Montblanc native, who spent his year on the IBU Cup circuit, also won the national U22 title in the speciality.
It’s a reward for the whole season I’ve put in,” he told Nordic Magazine after crossing the finish line. It also shows me that I’m a good shot, that I know how to shoot. That’s what I’m particularly pleased about at the end of the season, because it’s complicated in cross-country skiing.
After this fine season, Gaëtan Paturel could well join the federal groups in early spring.
