Biathlon: Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold reassures everyone
Last weekend, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold dominated the opening Norwegian biathlon races in Sjusjøen (Norway). Winner of the sprint on Saturday, she then went on to win the mass-start on Sunday , beating her young compatriot Maren Kirkeeide to the finish.
This double victory comes at the end of a chaotic preparation: suffering a fractured wrist at the start of the summer, she then had to cancel her participation in the very important Italian altitude training camp for the Norwegian national team in October. With a hip injury, she didn’t even know if she would be able to put on her race number in Sjusjøen.
The two wins in Innlandet County were therefore rather unexpected. “I’m surprised by the results, she told Dagbladet on Sunday after winning the mass start. I went there with my current form and I’m very happy that it went well.”

Afterwards, her compatriot Marit Ishol Skogan, who will start the season in the IBU Cup, was quick to praise her in the mixed zone: “She’s worked hard and what she’s doing here is extremely strong. She’s going to be scary this winter, she said. She’s shown that she can win the overall World Cup.”
“She’s not going to say it publicly, but she’s shown that she’s got what it takes,” she added. Her Italian shooting coach Patrick Oberegger is also confident aboutIngrid Landmark Tandrevold‘s form: “I think the situation has made her even better,” he says.
