Biathlon: Ella Halvarsson’s new life
Last season, 25-year-old Swedish biathlete Ella Halvarsson achieved by far the best results of her career. Eighteenth in the final overall World Cup rankings, she also scored her first individual podiums, becoming runner-up in the individual world championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland).
These performances have put the native of Borlänge (Sweden) at the forefront of the Swedish media. A new situation that is forcing Ella Halvarsson to work even harder on her mental state.

“Mental training is important for your well-being, she tells SVT Sport. Maybe I’ll be under completely different pressure, both from within and without. A lot of people think it’s not important, but it is. I read and see what other people write.”
Unlike the Oeberg sisters, Ella Halvarsson does not yet have a guaranteed place at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan/Cortina , but she is one of the favourites to win one on the track next season. With a word of warning to herself: “Just because everything went well last year doesn’t mean everything will go well this year.”
