Biathlon: Campbell Wright to take part in his second Olympic Games in February
In 2022, on the slopes of Zhangjiakou (China), biathlete Campbell Wright took part in his first Olympic Games. Just over 20 years old at the time, the New Zealand biathlete finished thirty-second in the individual event, dominated by Quentin Fillon-Maillet.
Having become an American athlete in 2023, the native of Rotorua (New Zealand) has since grown up to become one of the world’s elite thanks to his two world silver medals won in Lenzerheide (Switzerland) last winter.

These performances, according to the selection document published by US Biathlon, mean that Campbell Wright’s place at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan/Cortina is already assured. To date, he is the only US biathlete to meet the criteria and thus qualify.
Finally, it is important to note that the two-time world runner-up in the sprint and pursuit is not yet officially selected for the Olympics. The US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC ) will announce its group of athletes for Milan/Cortina 2026 in mid-January. In the meantime, however, Campbell Wright can rest easy.
