Biathlon: France’s women too inaccurate to reach the podium in Altenberg
Early on Wednesday afternoon, the Junior Biathlon Cup in Altenberg (Germany), which supports the European Junior Championships, continued with the individual women’s race.
A few hours after the fine silver medal won by Antonin Delsol from Féclaz, the French did not manage to reach the podium. Grenoble’s Anaëlle Bondoux (16/20) was the best of the Bleues, but had to let the top 3 slip through her fingers… by 10 sec 3. Fourth in the rankings and fastest on the track, she was edged out by Poland’s Amelia Liszka (19/20), who had a suntan.

It was Bulgaria’s Valentina Dimitrova (18/20), who also took part in the World Cup last week, who took the gold medal ahead of Finland’s Eveliina Hakala (20/20), who shot the only perfect shot of the race.

Célia Henaff (16/20), eighth, is the other Frenchwoman in the top 10, followed by Louise Roguet (16/20) in eleventh place, Lola Bugeaud (16/20) in nineteenth after a cracking last standing, Pauline Machut (15/20) in twenty-sixth, Coralie Perrin (13/20) in fiftieth and Eva Laine (11/20) in sixty-sixth.
