Norway’s Sturla Holm Lægreid was the brilliant winner of the biathlon world cup pursuit in Antholz (Italy) on Sunday afternoon, extending his lead at the top of the overall rankings.
While he was leading by just 3 points after Friday’s sprint, he now has a 48-point lead over his compatriot Johannes Thingnes Boe, sixth on the day, going into the break at the World Championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland).

In third place, Eric Perrot (585) is almost 300 points behind, followed by Emilien Jacquelin (567), Tarjei Boe (553), Sebastian Samuelsson (549), Vebjoern Soerum (491), Quentin Fillon-Maillet (490), Tommaso Giacomel (465) and Fabien Claude (437). Eighteenth-placed Campbell Wright (279) kept his blue bib as best U23 rider.
In the specific pursuit ranking, Johannes Thingnes Boe (290) and Sturla Holm Lægreid (290) are now tied on points. Eric Perrot (195) completes the podium ahead of Emilien Jacquelin (194).
