Biathlon: only five Italian male biathletes called up for Antholz
This week, the Biathlon World Cup takes place at the Südtirol Arena in Antholz-Anterselva (Italy), where the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games will be held in a year’s time.
On Tuesday morning, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) unveiled the composition of its home team from Thursday to Sunday. Unsurprisingly, the leaders will be Dorothea Wierer, who will be competing in her last World Cup in Antholz, and Tommaso Giacomel, winner of the mass-start in Ruhpolding (Germany) a few days ago.

They will be joined by Hannah Auchentaller, Rebecca Passler, Samuela Comola, Michela Carrara, Martina Trabucchi, Lukas Hofer, Didier Bionaz, Elia Zeni and Daniele Cappellari.
It should be noted that only five boys have been called up, as Patrick Braunhofer is concentrating on preparing for the European Championships.
