In recent biathlon World Cup races, Norway’s Sturla Holm Lægreid has regularly clawed back overall points from Johannes Thingnes Boe, wearing the yellow bib.
On Friday afternoon, by finishing second in the sprint, he took command of the hierarchy. His illustrious compatriot was only ninth. After the updated rankings, Sturla Holm Lægreid (764) now leads Johannes Thingnes Boe (761) by 3 lengths.

Eric Perrot (544) was third, ahead of Emilien Jacquelin (543), Sebastian Samuelsson (515), Vebjoern Soerum (491), Tarjei Boe (478), Quentin Fillon-Maillet (453) and Fabien Claude (415). Sixteenth-placed Campbell Wright (278) keeps his blue bib as best U23.
In the sprint speciality rankings, Sturla Holm Lægreid (279) snatched the red bib from Johannes Thingnes Boe (277).
