Biathlon: Pre-Olympic World Cup kicks off in Antholz on Thursday
The Biathlon World Cup in Antholz (Italy) kicks off this Thursday with the women’s sprint. The race kicks off at 2.30pm with the start of American Deedra Irwin, who has bib number 1. Before the start of the big favourites, Paula Botet (4), winner of the last sprint held on the circuit, Venla Lehtonen (7), Johanna Skottheim (9), Stefanie Scherer (11), Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (12) and Baiba Bendika (14) will be on the track.
Next up in the blue group are Milena Todorova (16), Anna Magnusson (18), Anamarija Lampic (20), Amy Baserga (22), Anna Gandler (24), Lena Haecki-Gross (26), Maya Cloetens (32), Paulina Batovska Fialkova (34), Hanna Oeberg (36) and Anna-Karin Heijdenberg (39).

Next, Suvi Minkkinen, on the 40, will open the red group, followed by Jeanne Richard, on the 42, Franziska Preuss, on the 44, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, on the 46, Dorothea Wierer, on the 48, Lou Jeanmonnot, on the 50, Maren Kirkeeide, on the 52, Elvira Oeberg, very uncertain with 54, Julia Simon, with 56, Anastasiya Kuzmina, with 59, Lisa Theresa Hauser, with 60, Océane Michelon, with 62, Selina Grotian, with 64, Karoline Knotten, with 66, and Ida Lien, with 67, will be leaving.
At the end of the race, the passages of Sonja Leinamo (69), Ragnhild Femsteinevik (73), Lea Meier (75), Anastasiya Merkushyna (78), Hannah Auchentaller (80), Martina Trabucchi (82) and Klara Vindisar (100) will be ones to watch.
