By winning the sprint at the Biathlon World Cup in Antholz (Italy) on Thursday afternoon, Doubs-based Lou Jeanmonnot closed the gap on Franziska Preuss, the overall leader.
While the gap between the two biathletes was 142 points at the start of the race, it is now 117 points. The German, third on the day, limited the damage. Elvira Oeberg (571), who had to withdraw from the German week, was third, followed by Jeanne Richard (471), Suvi Minkkinen (459), Julia Simon (455), Océane Michelon (445), Selina Grotian (437) and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (395).

In fact, the German retains the lead in the sprint rankings and the red leader’s bib that goes with it. With 298 points, she is ahead of Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (242), Lou Jeanmonnot (216) and Selina Grotian (206).
