Biathlon : Johannes Dale-Skjevdal still without competition at the IBU Cup
Just a few hours after Gilonne Guigonnat, Amandine Mengin, Voldiya Galmace-Paulin and Sophie Chauveau completed a remarkable quadruple in the women’s race, the men also took to the track in the second sprint of the IBU Cup, held in Arber (Germany) this weekend.

And while he was making his return to theantechamber of the World Cup, which he had not been in contact with since 18 December 2021, Jacques Jefferies did not miss out on his reunion. More in difficulty in the first sprint, the Frenchman put in a much better performance on Saturday.
The Haut-Savoyard came close to perfection with his shooting, scoring an excellent 9/10, and was then able to rely on his good speed on skis, which enabled him to play at the top of the rankings. Finally finishing sixth, the 22-year-old biathlete achieved his best career result at this level of competition.

Just 12 seconds off the podium, the Gêtois rider has reassured himself and will be in a strong position in the pursuit scheduled for Sunday. Ahead of him, it was Johannes Dale-Skjevdal who won in style. Already stratospheric the day before, the Norwegian once again went it alone.

With a 10/10, the Scandinavian also set the best ski time of the day to win by a wide margin for the second time in a row. Behind him, his team-mate Isak Frey settled for second place, more than 37 seconds back. Germany’s Roman Rees (8/10) rounded off the top 3.
Théo Guiraud-Poillot back in the limelight
Théo Guiraud-Poillot was also very close to the top 10 when he crossed the line. Out of the running on Friday, the Haut-Savoyard put things right this time, finishing twelfth in the final after making only two mistakes on the mats.

His Pays rochois team-mate Gaëtan Paturel (7/10) also finished in the top 20, in nineteenth place. Still in good form on his skis with the eighth fastest time of the day, the Frenchman beat his compatriots Axel Garnier (7/10), thirty-second, Edgar Geny (6/10) forty-first, and Rémi Broutier (5/10), forty-eighth.
