Biathlon: Quentin Fillon-Maillet was impregnable
This weekend, at the Summer Tour biathlon in Arçon (Doubs), Quentin Fillon-Maillet was the best. And by a long way. After winning Saturday’s sprint in style, the Jura native went on to win the pursuit on Sunday, securing a new French championship title, his second in the speciality after 2021.

Freed from the competition of Eric Perrot, who withdrew because he didn’t want to pull too hard on the rope when he was supposed to start second at 31 seconds, Quentin Fillon-Maillet had a great race. Seemingly liberated and once again a killer both on the track and on the shooting range, he only missed two bullets: the last of his two standing rounds. With this 18/20 score, the Grandvallier won solo, nearly a minute ahead of his runner-up.
Emilien Jacquelin beats Fabien Claude for silver, Martin Botet on cloud nine
His name is Emilien Jacquelin (16/20). Sixth at the start, the Villardien showed himself to be at ease on ski-wheels, which enabled him to catch Fabien Claude (20/20), who was finally tanned, in the final hectometres.

Oscar Lombardot (18/20) was fourth, just ahead of the astonishing Martin Botet (19/20). The U22 winner finished fifth for the second time this weekend. The top 10 was completed by Théo Guiraud-Poillot (16/20), Emilien Claude (16/20), Corentin Jacob (15/20), second U22 and French summer biathlon champion in the category, Thierry Langer (17/20) and Mathieu Garcia (18/20).

Further back, we find Ian Martinet (18/20) thirteenth and third U22, Axel Garnier (13/20) fifteenth, Lionel Jouannaud (17/20) sixteenth, Valentin Lejeune (17/20) eighteenth, Edgar Geny (16/20) twentieth, Arnaud Du Pasquier (11/20) twenty-second and Antonin Guigonnat (11/20) thirtieth.
Finally, in the last outing of his career, Sébastien Mahon (13/20) finished forty-sixth.
