Over the last few weeks, many biathlon World Cup athletes have posed alongside Dmytro Pidruchnyi after offering one or more race numbers to the Ukrainian, who is collecting them to organise a tombola to fund a shelter for a school in his country, which remains in armed conflict with Russia.
These included Sebastian Samuelsson, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Julia Simon, whom the 33-year-old biathlete warmly thanked on his Instagram account. In the last few days, brothers Johannes Thingnes and Tarjei Boe have in turn offered a jersey worn during the stage in Ruhpolding (Germany).
But that’s not all. The Norwegians have also provided a signed pair of skis in support of Ukraine. This attractive gift will be distributed on 25 February to the winner of the draw conducted by Dmytro Pidruchnyi.
