Biathlon: Austrian women beaten again by foreigners
The Austrian biathlon trials in Obertilliach (Austria) concluded on Monday morning with a pursuit race. In this head-to-head race, as in the previous day’s sprint, it wasn’t a local biathlete who came out on top, as Slovenia’s Polona Klemencic (19/20) triumphed.

With just one mistake on the shooting range, she beat Bulgaria’s Milena Todorova (19/20) by 3.8 seconds and Anna Gandler (19/20) by 8.7 seconds. Valentina Dimitrova (18/20), Lora Hristova (18/20), Lisa Theresa Hauser (16/20), Yuliia Dzhma (19/20), Lena Repinc (17/20), Dunja Zdouc (18/20) and Tamara Steiner (18/20) also made the top 10. Anamarija Lampic, only eighteenth at 11/20, has plummeted.
On the men’s side, Felix Leitner showed that he was on the way back to his best. Already the winner of the sprint, he won this pursuit at 18/20 ahead of Miha Dovzan (19/20) and Simon Eder (17/20).
