Biathlon: Lisa Vittozzi back in competition
While the world’s best biathletes are currently battling it out for world medals in Lenzerheide (Switzerland), Italy’s Lisa Vittozzi is back in action.
Out for the whole season after suffering a back injury at the end of her preparations, the winner of the 2024 Crystal Globe did indeed don her race number again this Sunday at the Grand Fondo Val Casies. The Italian star lined up for the 30km skating race.

Thirteenth at the finish line, 6 minutes behind the Czech winner Ilona Plechakova, who is also a biathlete, Lisa Vittozzi was able to get back to racing under the South Tyrolean sun.
“I said to myself: I’m going to have fun and try to do a race, and it was really good! It’s my first time here, so I’m really happy. Being in the fray and handing over a race number is great and I’ve been missing it, so that’s why I came”, she explained to the ANSA press agency.
