Biathlon: back to work for Les Bleus
Almost two months after the end of the 2024/2025 Biathlon World Cup, the French team is back at work this Monday. Group A of the French team, as well as the women’s B squad, will be back in action in Prémanon (Jura). On the programme: a three-day training camp to lay the foundations for Olympic preparation.

It’s a first grouping that comes quite early in the preparation, it’s rare that we do that,” Simon Fourcade, the boys’ coach, explained to Nordic Magazine. The programme is going to be dense and very full. It will all serve to prepare the bodies for the workloads that will follow.
No biathlon sessions, but some shooting on the programme
“The aim of the three days is to prepare the athletes for the heavy training schedule that lies ahead. There will be a programme devised by Romain Hurtault, our physical trainer, with all five of the group’s physiotherapists, who will also be present,” explains Cyril Burdet. The idea is to do a check-up of all the athletes to see if everything is in order before we start our preparation. The aim is also to do some preparatory work on the muscles and joints to minimise the risk of injury before the season starts.
To put it plainly, this pre-manon gathering focused on prophylaxis will not be dedicated to the resumption of biathlon as such. In fact, ski-wheelers will not be taking part, or will only be there to take part in one of the tests on the programme.

“There won’t necessarily be a lot of time devoted to training, but there will be a few sessions, particularly in shooting, to get back in touch with the rifle and take stock of the situation and get back on track,” confirms Cyril Burdet.
After this 72-hour gathering, the A groups will head to the Presqu’île de Giens (Var) from 26 to 30 May for the CNOSF pre-Olympic training camp. The biathletes won’t get down to business until June : the men from 14 to 20 June in Corrençon-en-Vercors (Isère), and the women from 23 to 29 June again in Prémanon.
