Biathlon: Haut-Savoyard Mathieu Perrillat-Bottonet wins in Bessans
This Saturday morning, the 2024/2025 French Biathlon Cup opened in Bessans (Savoie) with a men’s sprint. Open to U19s, U22s and seniors, it went to Mathieu Perrillat-Bottonet (8/10) from Haut-Savoie. Although he was more than 10 seconds behind Ian Martinet (9/10) after standing up, he put in a great last lap to win by a wide margin of 22.8 seconds over the Savoyard.

The day’s podium was completed by Vosgien Guillaume Poirot (8/10) at 24 sec 9. Not far behind in the top 10 were Valentin Lejeune (8/10), Mathieu Garcia (8/10), Ambroise Meunier (8/10), Corentin Jacob (7/10), Edgar Geny (8/10), Benjamin De Grimaudet De Rochebouet (10/10), first U19, and Léo Carlier (9/10), second U19.

Eleventh on the day, Emile Perrillat-Bottonet (10/10) completed the U19 podium in this opening race. Lou Thiévent (9/10) was fourteenth, Antonin Guy (8/10) seventeenth, Jacques Jefferies (7/10) twentieth and Paul Fontaine (9/10) twenty-fourth.
