Biathlon: at 19/20, Julia Simon wins the mass-start in Bessans
With less than two weeks to go until the start of the 2024/2025 Biathlon World Cup, the French stars were on the snowfarm in Bessans (Savoie) this Sunday morning for a dress rehearsal for the mass start of the IBU Cup selections.
Although Océane Michelon did not start this direct confrontation, the other members of the French A team were all there. As expected, there was a great battle, with Beaufort’s Julia Simon (19/20) coming out on top with a perfect final standing shot.

Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (17/20) and Paula Botet (18/20) from the Vosges, a good twenty seconds behind her, rounded off the podium. Botet, who is clearly in great form, finished first among the girls in the selection for the third time in three races. Lou Jeanmonnot (17/20), Camille Bened (17/20), Jeanne Richard (18/20), Fany Bertrand (18/20), Lisa Siberchicot (19/20), Gilonne Guigonnat (16/20) and Voldiya Galmace-Paulin (16/20) rounded off the top 10.
A difficult race, however, for Léonie Jeannier (16/20), thirteenth, Noémie Remonnay (16/20), fourteenth, Sophie Chauveau (12/20), sixteenth, and Lou-Anne Dupont Ballet-Baz (15/20), seventeenth.
