Biathlon: Damien Levet wins the sprint, as on Saturday, and qualifies for the IBU Cup
This Tuesday morning, the FFS biathlon selections in Bessans (Savoie) concluded with sprints. The men’s race was again won by Damien Levet from Bornand, who had already competed in this format on Saturday.
With a time of 9/10, the biathlete from the Mont-Blanc committee managed to resist the comeback of Valentin Lejeune (8/10) from the Vosges, who was second on the day at 1 sec 6, in the final round. The two men have now qualified for the start of the IBU Cup season, even if the French Ski Federation (FFS) has yet to make it official.

The day’s podium was completed by Chamonix’s Lionel Jouannaud (10/10). A member of the Excellence 2030 group a year ago, he then had a difficult winter. Now a member of the Haute-Savoie Nordic Team, the Montblanc native took the only perfect shot of the morning to claim the podium, 13.9 seconds from the winner, after coming out on top in the standing.
Léo Carlier and Mathieu Garcia miss each other
Corentin Jacob (9/10), favourably placed for the final ticket to the IBU Cup, Edgar Geny (8/10), Camille Grataloup-Manissolle (9/10), Rémi Broutier (6/10), Antonin Delsol (8/10), Cyprien Mermillod-Blardet (9/10) and Judicaël Perrillat-Bottonet (9/10) all feature in the top 10.

Disappointments, however, for Léo Carlier (6/10), only seventeenth two days after winning the mass-start, and Mathieu Garcia (5/10). The Franc-Comtois and the Dauphinois will therefore not be starting their season in the IBU Cup.
