Biathlon: a tough World Team Challenge for Fabien Claude
On Saturday evening, the World Team Challenge 2024 decidedly did not go according to plan for France’s Fabien Claude and Julia Simon. Two-time title holders, Les Bleus actually finished sixth, a long way from the podium, because of 11 shooting errors in the pursuit.
However, they were also victims of bad luck , as the Vosgien fell twice. Firstly, in the penalty ring at the start of the race and then as he exited the mat on his last shot. On this occasion, one of his ski bindings was ripped off.
Obliged to complete his penalty ring on just one ski, the man from Bassur put on a show and was then given a Salomon ski. Under contract to Rossignol, he finished the competition with two different skis.
