As a curtain raiser to the World Team Challenge, Biathlon auf Schalke included the Talent Team Challenge in its programme on Saturday afternoon. A race reserved for juniors, it was won by Norwegian favourites Guro Femsteinevik and Sivert Gerhardsen.

With just one shooting error in this mixed single relay competition, they gave no-one a chance of winning. In the end, they crossed the finish line with a margin of almost 30 seconds over Austrians Wilma Anhaus and Thomas Marchl (37/40).

At home, Germany’s Charlotte Gallbronner and Linus Kesper (34/40) complete the podium, just ahead of their compatriots Alina Nussbicker and Elias Seidl (33/40). Finally, Slovenia’s Lena Repinc and Matic Bradesko (30/40) are fifth, while the Latvians (26/40) have been beaten.
