Biathlon: it’s done for Camille Bened
The women’s crystal globe in the IBU Biathlon Cup officially remains in France. While a duel between Camille Bened and Voldiya Galmace-Paulin had been raging for several weeks at the top of the overall B circuit rankings, the Chablais native secured the precious crystal trophy.
On Friday, during the sprint inOtepää (Estonia), 24-year-old Camille Bened came second. In doing so, she won her third globe of the winter , having already claimed the pursuit and mass-start titles last weekend.
The biathlete from Chablais Nordic thus becomes the third Frenchwoman to win the IBU Cup crystal globe after Lou Jeanmonnot, who was crowned in 2022, and Océane Michelon, who was crowned in 2024. The Frenchwoman follows in the footsteps of other great names, including Franziska Hildebrand (2011), Maren Hammerschmidt (2012), Daria Virolainen (2017), Vanessa Voigt (2021) and Tilda Johansson (2023).

Behind Camille Bened (1,143) in the final rankings were Voldiya Galmace-Paulin (1,072), Paula Botet (934), Karoline Erdal (695), Gilonne Guigonnat (680), Stefanie Scherer (652), Amandine Mengin (631), Sophie Chauveau (599), Marthe Kraakstad Johansen (584) and Rebecca Passler (551). Despite retiring in the middle of winter, Chloé Chevalier (377) is eighteenth.
Finally, in accordance with point 15.6.3.d. of the IBU Competition and Event Rules, this gain in the overall IBU Cup ranking provides France with an additional quota for the first two stages of the 2025/2026 World Cup. This place is not nominative and could be awarded to any French biathlete at the start of next season.
