Biathlon: fifteen biathletes announced at the CNOSF pre-Olympic meeting
In a week’s time, the road to the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games will officially open for French athletes. From 26 to 30 May, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) is organising its traditional pre-Olympic gathering on the Presqu’île de Giens (Var).
Cancelled in 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic, this week-long gathering of nearly 200 athletes from the various Winter Olympic disciplines is back on the programme this year. The last edition, at a time when a certain Martin Fourcade was at the top of his game, dates back to 2017 and took place in sunny La Londe-les-Maures (Var).

Nordic Magazine was able to obtain the list of athletes invited to this event, which combines training in the morning with joint activities in the afternoon, from the CNOSF. Fifteen biathletes will be taking part.
All the French stars present, except Jeanne Richard
On the men’s side, the selection is logical as Fabien Claude, Quentin Fillon-Maillet, five-time medallist at Beijing 2022, Emilien Jacquelin, Eric Perrot, Oscar Lombardot, Antonin Guigonnat and Emilien Claude have all been announced as participants.
The women’s selection is more surprising… and wide-ranging. While Lou Jeanmonnot, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, the reigning Olympic mass-start champion, Julia Simon and Océane Michelon will logically be taking part, Montblanc’s Jeanne Richard will not.

Rounding out the squad are Sophie Chauveau, Gilonne Guigonnat, Paula Botet and Camille Bened, who is currently recovering from a left shoulder operation in April.
