Biathlon | Cross-country skiing: the Swedish Olympic Committee’s announcement
At 11am on Tuesday, the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK ) announced, seven months after the first names were announced, a second wave of candidates for the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan/Cortina.
In the biathlon, Sebastian Samuelsson, Martin Ponsiluoma, Hanna Oeberg and Elvira Oeberg, who have been assured of their place in Italy since last May, are joined by Anna Magnusson, current world number one, Ella Halvarsson, Jesper Nelin, Viktor Brandt and Malte Stefansson. This leaves one men’s and two women’s tickets to be decided.
In cross-country skiing, the big news is the presence of Alvar Myhlback in the selection. Along with Marcus Grate, they join William Poromaa and Edvin Anger in Milan/Cortina 2026, with four quotas still to be filled.
On the women’s side, however, the Olympic squad is now complete, with Linn Svahn, Maja Dahlqvist, Moa Ilar, Johanna Hagstroem and Emma Ribom earning the right to travel to Val di Fiemme (Italy) alongsideEbba Andersson, Frida Karlsson and Jonna Sundling.
Finally, in ski jumping, Frida Westman has also been officially selected for the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
