Biathlon | Cross-country skiing: it’s possible to ski in Les Saisies
So far this season in France, it has only been possible to cross-country ski at Bessans (Savoie), which opened its Nordic area on Saturday 2 November. This Monday morning, the snowfarming area at Les Saisies (Savoie) is open.
Thanks to a thick layer of sawdust left over from last winter, teams from the Beaufortain ski resort – where Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Julia Simon compete – were able to lay out a 2-kilometre long track that passes over the shooting range from the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games.
The 2025 French biathlon and cross-country skiing championships willbe held at the Les Saisies venue from 28 to 30 March. The site has been modernised in recent months, in particular by enlarging the shooting range to bring it up to current standards.
Lead collection has also been improved , while new storage and work areas have been created. Finally, the Olympic building has also been partly renovated to create changing rooms, toilets and a meeting area.
