This Wednesday evening, the German Ski Association announced in a press release that Danilo Riethmueller had withdrawn from the biathlon world cup in Antholz (Italy) scheduled for this weekend.
“The aim here is to avoid any risk of overexertion, explains Felix Bitterling, head of the German biathlon. He’s had a number of tests over the last few days and some of the values have given us a headache. It would be a risk not to be underestimated to let him take the start here, at altitude.”
Danilo Rietmueller is moving to Ridnaun-Val Ridanna (Italy), where the group preparing for the European Championships is currently training. David Zobel is going in the opposite direction and will start the Antholz sprint on Friday.
