Biathlon : heading to Vercors for some of the transalpines
The world of Italian biathlon has a rather busy schedule for the next few weeks. After the summer championships, the Squadra Azzurra will divide into several groups to continue their preparation. In this context, the women’s team will go to the Dolomites at Alpe di Siusi (Italy) from September 12 to 21, for an altitude training camp in which Lisa Vittozzi will not participate.
Accompanied by Lukas Hofer, the 29-year-old biathlete will be at the starting line of the City Biathlon in Dresden (Germany) this weekend. Right after, the two Italians will return to training under the guidance of Jonne Kähkönen, at the Lavazè pass (Italy) until October 6.
Meanwhile, Dorothea Wierer, Tommaso Giacomel, Didier Bionaz, Elia Zeni, and Patrick Braunhofer will cross the Alps to continue their preparation work in Isère, near Corrençon-en-Vercors. After her Olympic adventure, the 34-year-old Italian is crossing the border once again, but this time biathlon will be the reason.
Fabio Cianciana and Andrea Zattoni will be in charge of supervising the team during this training camp, which will take place from September 16 to 27. A well-stocked menu probably awaits the Italian biathletes who are about to enter the final stretch of their preparation.
