Biathlon : Dorothea Wierer speaks out for Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold
Dorothea Wierer didn’t have the best day of her career on skis on Wednesday, during the opening mixed relay of the biathlon world championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland). In spring snow that quickly turned to ice, the Italian fought hard to stay in the fight for the podium.

Unfortunately, however, that wasn’t enough for her team, who finished an anecdotal seventh. But that didn’t seem to be the most important thing for the Italian. A few minutes after the finish, the 34-year-old biathlete took time out in the mixed zone to talk about a subject close to her heart.
Since her setback in this same event, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold has been the target of numerous insults on social networks. An outpouring of hatred that Dorothea Wierer (unfortunately) knows all too well. “I know what it means because I’m used to it. I get insults all the time, but I never reply,” she told Fondo Italia. I don’t even want to talk about it all because some of these people also have relatives in the circuit. People don’t think much of me because I cause problems even when I’m performing well.

“ It’s never pleasant because athletes should be respected and these things shouldn’t happen. You can see that some people feel important in this way,” she lamented. I’d just advise Ingrid not to give them any importance, because at the end of the day they’re just fake profiles, because it’s easier to put someone down when you’re behind the keyboard, rather than saying things to their face.”
