For several months now, Dmytro Pidruchnyi has been collecting the race numbers of numerous biathlon World Cup athletes with a very specific idea in mind. By organising a tombola on his social networks to win the bibs, the Ukrainian is raising funds that will enable him to finance a shelter for a school based on Ukrainian soil.
And while Julia Simon, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Sebastian Samuelsson and the brothers Johannes Thingnes and Tarjei Boe have all played along, it’s another Frenchman who has offered up his jersey in recent days. A few days after the stage in Ruhpolding (Germany), Eric Perrot posed with his Ukrainian counterpart.
