Biathlon: Les Bleus take bronze in the relay at the European Championships
The 2025 European Biathlon Championships drew to a close early on Sunday afternoon in Martell-Val Martello (Italy) with the men’s relay. A few hours after the Germans’ success in the women’s competition, the Norwegians Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen, Sverre Dahlen Aspenes, Sivert Guttorm Bakken and Isak Frey put on a real demonstration.

It’s quite simple: out of forty cartridges released during the eight runs on the shooting range, they only missed one target. As a result, Harald V’s team quickly broke away at the front of the race and were crowned European champions with a lead of more than 2 minutes over the competition.

For the other medals, there was a fine match between Germany (Lucas Fratzscher, Simon Kaiser, Roman Rees, David Zobel) and France (Théo Guiraud-Poillot, Gaëtan Paturel, Oscar Lombardot, Rémi Broutier). More precise despite a penalty round and twelve picks, it was the Germans who went in search of silver, while Les Bleus, with two rounds and seventeen picks, were left with a tan.
Italy, Sweden, Bulgaria, Austria, Ukraine, Finland and Switzerland, with Arnaud Du Pasquier as the finisher, completed the top 10 in this race.
