Biathlon: Martin Botet from the Vosges wins bronze in the Mass Start 60
The final day of the European Junior Biathlon Championships in Altenberg (Germany) kicked off on Sunday morning with the men’s mass-start 60. In a highly electric head-to-head race, the suspense stretched right up to the final round of cross-country skiing.

In the end, it was Poland’s Grzegorz Galica (17/20) who took the gold medal by beating Greenland’s Sondre Slettemark (18/20), who was silvered, in the final kilometres. It was the 17-year-old biathlete’s third title of the week , following the individual and mixed relays.

For bronze, it was Vosges’ Martin Botet (18/20), who came out of the last shot with Doubiste’s Léo Carlier (18/20), finally in fifth place, who picked up the trophy 12.8 seconds behind the winner. Fourth place went to Slovakia’s Jakub Borgula (18/20), while sixth-placed Serhii Suprun (18/20) rounded off the flower ceremony.
Among the other French competitors, Camille Grataloup-Manissolle (16/20) was tenth, Axel Garnier (16/20) fourteenth, Guillaume Poirot (16/20) sixteenth, Antonin Delsol (14/20) eighteenth and Judicaël Perrillat-Bottonet (14/20) twenty-first.
