Biathlon: Eva Laine’s winter is over
After a winter of 2023/2024 marked by two top 10 finishes in the Junior Cup biathlon, Eva Laine joined the French Ski Federation’s (FFS) Excellence 2030 team at the end of the spring .
Ambitious at the start of the season, the biathlete from Savoie did not have the winter she had hoped for. Although she competed internationally at the Junior Cup in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna (Italy) and the European Junior Championships in Altenberg (Germany), she failed to shine. A painful Achilles tendon forced her to end her season in mid-March.
“My tendon and I, it’s a long story… Three years of tendonitis, an operation in April, a whole season of gritting our teeth, and now a crack to finish on a high note. Clearly, he likes to make life difficult for me! So I’m taking a forced break to get better before coming back stronger,” she wrote on Instagram on Thursday evening.
