18:11. A few weeks ago, Austrian biathlete Felix Leitner told the IBU website that he wanted to bounce back after three difficult seasons. Fifth in the City Biathlon Dresden (Germany) last August, he also showed his progress.
However, on Monday, the 28-year-old Tyrolean announced on Instagram his decision to end his career with immediate effect.
“Many days became the best because I was able to live and celebrate moments with my favourite people. Laughing, crying, marvelling and enjoying, that’s how I’ve lived and loved these last sixteen years in the wonderful everyday life of biathlon, and that’s how I’ll remember them,” he writes simply.
