Biathlon: Emilien Jacquelin took time to recover mentally after Antholz
On Saturday, at the French Biathlon Cup sprint in La Féclaz (Savoie), the members of the French team will be back competing after almost two weeks without pulling on a bib. Having already taken part in this race last year, the French biathletes will be looking for new sensations and benchmarks before heading to Switzerland.

In just five days’ time, the World Championships will kick off in Lenzerheide, a resort nestling at an altitude of almost 1,500 metres in the canton of Grisons. Among them, Emilien Jacquelin will be part of the action on the Savoyard slopes.
This Friday, the Isérois rider made his first intensity run after two weeks at home, where he even got on his bike a few times. On his home ground of Corrençon-en-Vercors (Isère), the Dauphinois’ training was disrupted by difficult conditions.

In the wind, the man with nine world medals was still able to test himself. “The two weeks I spent at home allowed me to recover well. Physically, I think I was still doing well in the World Cup,” he tells Nordic Magazine. It was more a question of mentally pushing myself to my limits on each day of the race.

After taking the time to “build up his energy”, as he puts it, Emilien Jacquelin knows that he will need competition and high intensity to really get into shape: “I needed to be fresh and that’s what I’ve got. I need to get back on track before the La Féclaz race, so it’s not the easiest thing to do,” he admits with a smile.
