Biathlon: France unveils its squad for the Worlds
On Wednesday, the French Ski Federation (FFS) made the long-awaited announcement of its shortlist for the biathlon world championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland), scheduled from 12 to 23 February.
There are currently eleven players on the list. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Lou Jeanmonnot, Océane Michelon, Jeanne Richard and Julia Simon have been selected in the women’s category.
According to Stéphane Bouthiaux, director of the French teams, who spoke to Nordic Magazine, the sixth place will be awarded next week at the IBU Cup in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna (Italy) , where Paula Botet, Sophie Chauveau and Gilonne Guigonnat will be competing.
First World Championships for Océane Michelon and Emilien Claude
The situation is already clearer for the men. Emilien Jacquelin, Fabien Claude and Quentin Fillon-Maillet have been selected. Vosgien Emilien Claude and Haut-Savoyard Antonin Guigonnat have also been selected, but as substitutes. While the Bassurois will be present at the competitions, the Morzinois, who is about to become a father, will not.
