Biathlon: Sturla Holm Lægreid, the new boss
On Sunday, Tarjei and Johannes Thingnes Boe contested the last race of their careers at the mass start in Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway). In front of their family and friends, they bid farewell, celebrating the end of their biathlon career with a crown and a cape in the colours of the national flag.
Their departure, however, leaves a huge gap in the Norwegian national team. Fresh from winning the Crystal Globe, Sturla Holm Lægreid has what it takes to take over. “I’m ready to become captain. Fortunately, I’m more mature than my age and I used to be president of the student council, he told VG with a smile. I can talk to the boys!”

Sturla Holm Lægreid will also have to occupy the media space, as his predecessors have done over the last ten years, if he is to take the lead of the Norwegian team. “They were able to make themselves heard and make good statements. I had a lot to learn from them. I’ve been an apprentice for five years and I hope I can find some incisive words that will make the news,” promises the new king of world biathlon.
