Biathlon: Skidskyttekampen day in Stockholm
After more than a year’s wait, the Skidskyttekampen returns to the programme this Monday. A biathlon show held in the Olympic stadium in Stockholm (Sweden), this second edition will bring together no fewer than fourteen teams.
Firstly, two French pairs have been invited to the event: Emilien Jacquelin and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, third in 2024, andEric Perrot and Océane Michelon. Opposite the French will be three Norwegian doubles: Juni Arnekleiv/Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen, the defending champions, Karoline Knotten/Tarjei Boe and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold/Johannes Thingnes Boe.

The Swedes will also be out in force with three teams: Hanna Oeberg/Martin Ponsiluoma, Johanna Skottheim/Sebastian Samuelsson and Anna Magnusson/Jesper Nelin.
Six other duos have also been announced: Lisa Theresa Hauser/Simon Eder for Austria, Suvi Minkkinen/Tero Seppälä for Finland, Lena Haecki-Gross/Niklas Hartweg for Switzerland, Yuliia Dzhima/Dmytro Pidruchnyi for Ukraine, Polona Klemencic/Miha Dovzan for Slovenia and Deedra Irwin/Campbell Wright for the United States.
Qualifications not to be underestimated
On the athletics track that hosted the 1912 Olympics, snow from Idre Fjäll (Sweden) was used to lay out a track just over a kilometre long. The eight-target shooting range faces the north stand.
The competition programme, contested in the early evening in a mixed single relay format, kicks off with the qualifying heats, separated into two series of seven teams (6.07pm and 6.35pm). The top finishers and the six fastest times will advance to the final, scheduled for 7.35pm. In all the races, the girls will kick off the hostilities and it will be up to the boys to conclude the race.

Finally, it should be noted that the six teams eliminated in the qualifying rounds will have to compete in individual mass-starts for each gender (7.05pm for the women, 7.20pm for the men).
