Biathlon : a new trophy for Franziska Preuss
Awarded annually since 2002, the Bavarian Sport Prize recognises outstanding performance and merit in sport.
In recognition of her outstanding winter of 2024/2025, Franziska Preuss was awarded the trophy in the “Outstanding Bavarian Sports Career” category on Saturday. It is a new trophy for the German after receiving the prestigious Poule d’Or last month.

The biathlete from Ruhpolding (Germany) received her trophy at a ceremony held at the BMW Welt in Munich (Germany), in the presence of Bavaria’s Minister-President Markus Söder and Sports Minister Joachim Herrmann.
Last winter, the German had the best season of her career: world champion in the pursuit, runner-up in the sprint, double bronze medallist in the mixed singles and mixed relays, before ending the winter by winning the overall World Cup standings.
