Biathlon: Julia Simon wins before heading to Lenzerheide
On Saturday lunchtime, France’s top biathletes, with the exception of Lou Jeanmonnot who was in Italy during the winter break, were taking part in the French Biathlon Cup sprint at La Féclaz (Savoie).

Unsurprisingly, the four French riders who will be competing in the World Championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland) from next Wednesday all finished in the top 4. Julia Simon from Beaufort, who clocked a 9/10 with one fault on her standing, set the fastest time of the day and took victory.

Dominant in this dress rehearsal, the reigning world champion in the speciality won 29 sec 6 ahead of Jeanne Richard (9/10) and 45 sec 3 ahead of Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (7/10), guilty of three errors on the downhill. Océane Michelon (6/10), in this national round organised by her club, Les Bauges Ski Nordique, was fourth at 1 min 15 sec 4.

Behind her was Noémie Remonnay (9/10), who had an excellent race and finished fifth in the final rankings. Sixth-placed Célia Henaff (9/10) won the U22 category , followed by Léonie Jeannier (9/10), Alice Dusserre (10/10), winner of the U19 category, and Caline Pic (8/10), second in the U19 category, in the final places in the overall top 10.

Lou-Anne Dupont Ballet-Baz (8/10) was eleventh, Lisa Siberchicot (7/10) twelfth, Maëla Correia (9/10) thirteenth, Belgian Eve Bouvard (7/10) fourteenth and Matilda Dodos (8/10), third U19, fifteenth.
