Biathlon: Vosges’ Amandine Mengin triumphs in Prémanon
The women’s mass start of the French Biathlon Cup in Prémanon (Jura) took place in fine conditions on Sunday lunchtime. Although there were gusts of wind on the Jura shooting range, Amandine Mengin from the Vosges put in a great performance, clocking 18/20.
In the midst of a winter in which she returned to the international circuits, the Bressaude won brilliantly on her own. This victory, combined with her second place in Saturday’s sprint, could send her to the IBU Cup as early as next week.
On the day’s podium, she was joined by Aindinoise Pauline Machut (20/20) at 33 sec 6 and young Haut-Savoyard Louise Roguet (17/20), once again winner in the U19 category.
At the foot of the podium were yellow number Léonie Jeannier (15/20), followed by Violette Bony (15/20), Coralie Perrin (18/20), second U19, Anaëlle Bondoux (11/20), Noémie Remonnay (15/20), Fany Bertrand (14/20) and Maëla Correia (20/20), who rounded off the top 10.
Thirteenth overall, Namou Candau-Armand (16/20) rounded off the U19 podium. Among the day’s disappointments were Coralie Langel (13/20), eleventh after her sprint performance, Eva Laine (13/20), twelfth, Thémice Fontaine (15/20), fourteenth, Célia Henaff (11/20), fifteenth, Lisa Siberchicot (13/20), sixteenth, Lola Bugeaud (13/20), seventeenth, and Lou-Anne Dupont Ballet-Baz (13/20), nineteenth.
