Biathlon: Quentin Fillon-Maillet wins the French Cup, Léo Carlier could go to the IBU Cup for the first time
This Sunday, Quentin Fillon-Maillet wore his race number for the first time in 2026 in the second sprint of the French Biathlon Cup in Prémanon (Jura).
At this event, organised by his club SC Grandvaux, the five-time Olympic medallist did not disappoint , taking victory just four days before the World Cup sprint in Oberhof (Germany). With a 9/10, missing a ball on the recumbent, the Grandvallier won 21 sec 2 ahead of Doubiste’s Léo Carlier (10/10), first U21.

Winner on Saturday and still on top form on Sunday, he could well have earned his place in next week’s IBU Cup in Arber (Germany) thanks to his performances over the weekend. It would be a major first for the Mortuacian.

Théo Guiraud-Poillot (9/10) completed the podium at 26 sec 6, while Germany’s Lukas Tannheimer (8/10), second U21, was just off the podium ahead of Camille Grataloup-Manissolle (9/10), third U21.
Mathieu Garcia (9/10), Esteban Javaux (8/10), Rémi Broutier (8/10), Antonin Delsol (7/10) and Edgar Geny (8/10) then entered the day’s top 10. Further back, Guillaume Poirot (8/10) was eleventh, Antonin Guy (9/10) fourteenth, Martin Botet (7/10) fifteenth, Axel Garnier (8/1) seventeenth and Jacques Jefferies (7/10) twenty-fifth.
