Biathlon: Martin Nevland’s demonstration in Geilo
On Sunday morning, a few hours before the races reserved for the top biathletes in Geilo (Norway), B mass-starts were contested as part of the Norwegian opening races.
In the men’s race, favourite Martin Nevland (18/20) won. A cut above the rest, he won solo with a lead of almost 50 seconds over Italy’s Patrick Braunhofer (17/20) and Poland’s Marcin Zawol (20/20).

Belgium’s Thierry Langer (14/20), whose shooting was too imprecise, came fourth ahead of Greenland’s Sondre Slettemark (19/20) and Norway’s Tov Roeysland (15/20).
Elida Fuglem wins the women’s race
Earlier in the morning, Norway’s Elida Fuglem (15/20) won the women’s competition ahead of Poland’s Anna Nedza-Kubiniec (16/20) and Kazakhstan’s Aisha Rakisheva (14/20).

Belgium’s Marine Debloem (17/20) came thirteenth and Great Britain’s Chloé Dupont (12/20) twenty-fourth.
